Central Virginia Commuter Services has developed a Strategic Plan, as required by the Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT), to outline the operating services and resources needed to operate the program in the most cost-effective manner possible. This strategic plan was developed in collaboration with local and state partners. This five-year plan will be updated annually to reflect the dynamic nature of the program operations.

Virginia’s Department of Rail and Public Transportation has released a new online map-based tool to help commuters plan their trips via bus, rail, car/vanpools or walking/biking. The new Trip Planner will equip commuters in rural areas with a tool that has more advanced capabilities than Google Maps, which typically focuses on transportation services with set routes and schedules, by providing information about micro transit opportunities.
